Ms. Matchsticks and the Day of Pulwama Attacks

Breathe, breathe!

People are usually very dumb. So, just breathe. So, as a woman in India, the recent unfolding of events has pushed Ms. Matchstick into thinking about the state of the country.

Are we really going to let the Pulwana Attacks slide?

But, does that warrant for anguish with zero reasons? What we need is you and me to be calm, and mourn. What we don't need is beating the fuck out of innocent people. If there is one thing that Ms. Matchsticks realized is that we are not doing enough for the Indian Armed Forces. In every section.

In every level.

We failed. We failed to even provide for them the stable environment in the military. Ms. Matchsticks got into a conversation with her friend Rahul yesterday. And, if there was one thing they both agreed with is that; the people demanding a war for revenge are not the people who are willing to stand our borders and take the bullets.

So, what we can do is, do more for the Indian Military and Armed Forces.

There are so many things that one thinks when something as sad as such happens. We feel so much but are rendered so helpless. We see our bravest fall, and we just feel angry.

So, Ms. Matchsticks decided on the day of the Pulwama Attacks, that she will do more. She will not let their sacrifices go in vain. She will not litter, not spit on the roads. Not be mean to people based on prejudices.

Pay her taxes regularly, probably help that fat kid in the lane. Who knows. But just do. Do her bit to help India. Not in the big ass ways. But, in ways that are available to everybody.

During such dark hours, Ms. Matchsticks decided she will not go quietly into night dashed in anger. But, she will treat her mother soil, India better. Treat her with kindness. Treat her with love. And, not just on flags and saffron colors.

Not just through vandalizing with anger and justifying that with even more anger.

But, for once, Ms. Matchsticks realized, life is precious. India is bigger than this. And, should anybody try to harm her, there are over a billion people ready to defend her.

This time, she will start by treating her motherland with kindness.
